It's Chanukah Time In Israel!

December is Chanukah season and therefore is one of the sweetest and brightest times of the year in Israel!  Why?  A couple of reasons...

Why sweet?

A favorite treat for Israelis and tourists alike during Chanukah is the sufganiya (doughnut) - but not just any doughnut.  The sufganiyot made in Israel are filled with the standard jelly filling, but also MANY other delicious fillings.  And each year they get more and more creative.

Here's a taste of what you'll find this year in Israel:
- Plain filled doughnut with chocolate icing and sprinkles
- Butterscotch filled doughnut
- Plain filled doughnut with pistachio flavored icing
- Plain filled doughnut with jelly inside and powdered sugar on the top
- Plain filled doughnut with vanilla icing ...

And SO much more!!

And why bright?

Each night people all over Israel place their brightly lit candles in their windows to display the miracle of the oil lasting for 8 days, when there was only enough to last for one!

It's truly a beautiful time of the year here and we hope that you'll decide - even last minute - to come and join the celebration with us!
